Beloved Kirstenbosch Carols returns to usher in the festive season
(Cape Town, November 2025) - It wouldn’t be the Festive Season in Cape Town without Cape Town Carols at Kirstenbosch.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch, sponsored by Pick n Pay, and supported by Radio Tygerberg 104FM and Fine Music Radio, the Mother City’s most-loved carols event returns this year to the picturesque Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens from Thursday, 18 to Sunday, 21 December 2025.
Grab a picnic blanket, round up your friends and family, and enjoy a wonderful evening set against what is unmistakably one of the world’s most magnificent backdrops.
The event will usher in the Festive Season with your favourite singalongs and the age-old Christmas story, delicious food, and the opportunity to buy some Christmas goodies. Then, add to the ambiance by transforming your phone into a digital glowstick and light up the evening sky alongside thousands of other Carols-goers.
In the spirit of Christmas, Pick n Pay will make your entire experience hassle-free by offering sumptuous picnic bags – with options for grown-ups and the little ones - on pre-order, and a host of delicious eats to purchase on-site. Bring your picnic blanket and treat yourself at the Pick n Pay boerie stand, buy a coffee or hot chocolate, and enjoy a variety of delicious sweet and savoury treats. Pick n Pay Clothing will bring their Christmas range, so shop the Festive Season’s latest fashions to look the part on Christmas day.
Tickets are available at Webtickets and any Pick n Pay store. Tickets are from R175 per adult, R125 per scholar, and children under 6 are free. A variety of access ticket & picnic basket options will also be available for pre-order. Song sheets will be available for download, and Carols will be led by a small band and choir.
Your support of this event enables Rotary International to assist communities across the Western Cape in a wide range of community-based programs, including youth leadership development, civic responsibility, and various health programs, specifically those around cancer awareness. These are in addition to programs dedicated to feeding schemes, numeracy and literacy, early childhood development, elderly support, water-saving, and sanitation awareness. Rotary Club of Kirstenbosch thanks Pick n Pay, Radio Tygerberg 104FM, Fine Music Radio and patrons for their continued and valued support.
